A Travellers Trove ... Travel far and wide but look close

I am officially (or unofficially) the Antiques Quarter Photographer…. I have never quite worked out which.

As such I am slowly but surely trudging through the wonderful Antiques, vintage, retro, café, art, style, fashion and such of the quarter and collating a catalogue of photographs. It is therefore with deep regret that I discovered yesterday that I had missed the boat. For the first time I trudged in through the doors of the Travellers Trove and was hit with the lovely things on show … And discovered that due to personal reasons the shop is due to close its doors to the public permanently on Sunday.

This was such a shame … I was especially disappointed when I spotted the pot making kiln in the corner …. Like most togs I get excited at new things to photo and I strongly felt I had missed the opportunity.

The Travellers Trove

The fault is mine.

As it happens the Travellers Trove is by distance the closest place to where I live and I always assumed this made it the most convenient. I therefore missed out on being able to properly explore this real gem of a place.

It has however left me with a Christmas moral lesson ….. A traveller may see many things that bring wisdom but never forget to explore what is on your front doorstep.

Before Sunday drop by the Travellers Trove and pick up some of these wonderful wares which have been lovingly crafted by artists and dreamers.

And have yourself a Merry little Christmas.
