Jo Peel @ Hagglers Corner
Jo Peel is an incredible Sheffield artist and produced the first commissioned mural for the Quarter. Jo painted this wonderful mural in 2015 on the gable end of Hagglers Corner at the Queens Road entrance to the quarter. By incorporating, into her piece, some iconic local buildings to include the Abbeydale Picture House and The Madina Mosque, she inadvertently made the focus ‘community’ and drew the quarter into a more significant partnership.
Jo’s work is startling and made even more captivating by her use of ‘stop motion time lapse’ … Check out this fabulous video of her piece Things Change
The Antiques Quarter owe a massive debt of gratitude to Jo Peel for her work on this piece as, like many of the artists who have contributed to the quarters street art projects, she did it for arts sake.
Thanks for this incredible artwork… much loved by Sheffield…
