We are a creative community of makers and doers, all set around a lovely courtyard, on the edge of Sheffield city centre. Our cafe is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm, has free wifi and offers a selection of teas, coffees, home made cakes, pastries and soups – see our Menu.
A relaxed, family-friendly environment, perfect for our community and visitors alike. All of our events can be found on our Events Diary. We are fully licensed and can cater for events, whether in the courtyard, inside Hagglers or we can even deliver to your premises – contact us with your requirements.
Within our walls, we’ve got studio spaces for creative people making beautiful things: designers, dressmakers, jewellery makers, carpenters and craftsmen. It’s a place to learn and do, with space to run workshops and special events. And it’s a place to visit, with our lovely little Kaffihus Cafe, where you can meet and greet and sit with a brew. Market days happen here too to sell all the hand made goodies produced on site. But most important of all, it’s a place where all these things meet. Making and doing and selling and brewing. All spilling into our courtyard. Welcome to our happy factory.

Forge Bakehouse has been providing the good folk of Sheffield and beyond with fresh bread and pastries since November 2012. Run by native Sheffielder Martha the pint sized bakery and shop is inhabited by a small team who are all about proper bread, good food and copious amounts of butter.
All of our products are made using traditional methods with many of our ingredients sourced locally or organically. We don’t use any additives, preservatives or improvers, and everything we make is shaped by hand. Our sourdough breads take days to produce using natural wild yeast to provide amazing flavours and textures. Expect to find rye, ciabatta, baguettes, focaccia, pain de campagne, spelt and an ever-evolving range of sourdoughs on our shelves.
Portuguese custard tarts, brownies and, oh my, the doughnuts. We make a wide range of patisserie, all of which come out of our ovens and straight onto our shelves every morning, providing a sometimes much needed dose of butter and sugar.
We regularly attend markets around Sheffield – at Sharrowvale Road, Nether Edge and more recently the Sheffield Food Festival so you can find us out and about waxing lyrical about all things baking. We hold pizza nights every month or so where you can come and order pizza to be made fresh in front of you and covered in delicious toppings for you to take away. It is one of the things that makes us feel a part of the community which we have come to greatly appreciate.
See you soon.
